Editor's review

This utility helps convert image files to XPS format for easy interchange of documents between applications. XPS or the XML paper specification was developed for making the interchange easy and is based on XML.

XPS page description language developed by Microsoft. In a style similar to a XML file lets one define the layout, appearance, and printing information for a document. XPS files can be opened with Microsoft`s XPS Viewer, which is included with Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Internet Explorer 6 or later. Image to XPS Converter is a batch converter for images in a range of formats such as TIF, TIFF, JPG, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TGA, WMF, EMF, PCX etc. You should be able to generate good quality print files from the images this way. Microsoft XPS Document Writer needs to be available for the converter to work properly. This is a virtual printer provided with recent Windows versions, including the Windows 7.

Flexible set of features allow you to have 100 different paper sizes and the ability to fit to left, top, width or height of the XPS pages. You can add a choice of watermarks and define font name, font height, font width, bold, italic, underline, outline, opacity, angle, RGB color, X and Y position, etc. The placement of watermark could be in the header/footer or elsewhere and you can choose to rotate the watermark when placing in the document. The software can also read the watermark options from a configuration file. Command line operation is also available. This is a good tool to help you when dealing with lots of scanned images such as when trying to create an electronic repository of existing documents into your organizations document management system.
